The Playing for Change Saskatchewan project was established in 2012 to host and support Playing for Change Day., a global fundraising initiative in support of music education for children and youth. As a Local Program Partnership between Blue Sky Cultural Connections and the PFC Foundation, we hosted a day-long series of concerts in Regina with about 30 performers contributing their time and talents in support of music education projects.
Over the past five years, more than 150 performers have collaborated to raise almost $24,000 here in Saskatchewan. Funds generated at our events have been split between the PFC international music programs, and music and arts education programs throughout Saskatchewan. This includes Kids of Note and the AIM Program in Saskatoon, Creative Kids across the province, North Central Kids Music in Regina, Feel the Rhythm, a musical instrument resource library in Regina, a PFC Children’s Choir in Montmartre and a summer music camp under development on the Ochapowace First Nation.
You can participate too. Come on out to our concert on Saturday, September 23rd. Admission is by donation, and we also have a silent auction with wonderful works by some of Saskatchewan's finest artists, plus other great items too. In addition, you can make an online donation:
